Anne Hathaway on Sunday won the best supporting actress Oscar for her searing portrayal of the dying prostitute Fantine in musical adaptation “Les Miserables.”

Hathaway bested fellow nominees Amy Adams for “The Master,” Sally Field for “Lincoln,” Helen Hunt for “The Sessions,” and Jacki Weaver for “Silver Linings  Playbook.” -- AFP
