Singapore singer Aliff Aziz fined $2,000 for stealing 2 mobile phones

Singapore singer Aliff Aziz fined $2,000 for stealing 2 mobile phones

Singaporean singer Aliff Aziz, who made a name for himself locally and across the causeway, has been fined $2,000 last Friday for stealing two mobile phones.

According to Berita Harian, 23-year-old Mohamad Aliff Aziz, had stolen a HTC One and a Samsung Note 1 belonging to a man Yong Kit Siong, both worth $800 each.

The offence was committed on May 24 at 12.01pm at Block 36 of Tanglin Halt Road together with an accomplice, identified as Muhammad Nurazlee Roselee.

If he fails to pay the fine, Aziz faces a jail term of 20 days. He could have been jailed for up to 3 years or fined, or both.

His mother mentioned that he was in Singapore on personal matters, and would return to Kuala Lumpur soon.

Prior to this, Aziz had disappeared from his filming location in KL, where he was shooting a drama.

According to mStar Online, Aliff Aziz said last month that he was not running away from anyone, was not hiding, and was also not facing any financial difficulty.

He had also deleted all his Instagram photos, because he wanted to turn over a new leaf as the “New Aliff”.

Cory Monteith died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol

The BC Coroners Service announces the cause of death of Cory Monteith was a mixture of toxicity, including heroin and alcohol.

Canadian actor Cory Monteith died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol, the British Columbia coroner's office said Tuesday.

"There is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith's death was anything other than a most tragic accident," the office said in a statement.

The 31-year-old was found dead in his Vancouver, British Columbia, hotel room Saturday after he didn't check out on time. He was believed to be alone when he died. Hotel video and electronic records indicate he returned to his room by himself early Saturday.

At a briefing Tuesday afternoon, police said they believe Monteith had been dead for several hours before he was found. They said the coroner's report didn't indicate the levels of heroin or alcohol in his system. They ruled out foul play.

"Our belief is that when he took the heroin he was alone," said Vancouver Police Department spokesman Brian Montague. He added: "There was evidence in the room that was consistent with a drug overdose. We're not providing exactly what we found at the scene."

Police said it was too early for the coroner's office to conclude whether Monteith was the victim of a bad batch of heroin, which turns up from time to time in Vancouver.

Monteith's death recalled the lives of Heath Ledger, Corey Haim and River Phoenix — actors who battled substance abuse and died in their 20s and 30s.

Monteith had talked bluntly about struggling with addiction since he was a teenager, calling it a serious problem and telling Parade magazine in 2011 he was "lucky to be alive."

In that interview, he said he was using marijuana and drinking by age 13, and his drug use was "out of control" by the time he was 16. "Anything and everything, as much as possible," he said. "I had a serious problem." ~ AP

Cory Monteith: Glee Star Found Dead In Hotel

Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel . The 31-year-old’s body was discovered just after noon on Saturday, after he failed to check out.

Police said Monteith was with other people Friday night. An examination of hotel video footage showed him returning to his room alone early Saturday morning. Police believe he was alone when he died. No cause of death was given and no foul play is suspected, police said. Police are questioning the people he was with Friday night.

In March, Monteith voluntarily checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. He previously checked into rehab when he was 19. It was unclear why the British Columbia-native had checked into the Vancouver hotel.

Family, Vancouver police said, have just been informed. He had been deceased for several hours when his body had been discovered.

Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."
Monteith has played Finn Hudson, the lovable boy-next door on Glee, since it debuted in 2009.
