BOLLYWOOD singer Sunidhi Chauhan will perform here for the first time at the Putrajaya Convention Centre on March 23.
Sunidhi started her career by taking part in entertainment programmes.
After a failed start, she worked hard to become one of today's voices for Bollywood sound tracks. She made her big break with the hit song Mehboob Mere. From then onwards, her star continued to rise.
Sunidhi's popularity took Indian entertainment scene by surprise. She steadily fixed the gaps in her career, improving her live singing dramatically and appearing more confident on stage.
Critics soon described her as a gifted singer capable of moving up in music with the speed required of a genuine playback talent.
Five years after her first breakthrough, she was scoring major hit songs for Bollywood movies. These included Khakhee's Aisa Jadoo and Dhoom's Dhoom Machale. Some terrific singing also ensued in Dus (Deedar De), Shikhar (Fitna Dil), Taxi Number 9211 (Ek Nazar), Pyare Mohan (Rabba De De Javaani), Shaadi Se Pehle (Mundiya) and 36 China Town (Aashiqui Mein Teri).
She won Filmfare Awards in 2001, 2007 and 2011, IIFA Awards in 2005 and 2007, Star Screen Awards in 2004 and 2007 and Zee Cine Awards in 2005.
One of the most sought-after Bollywood playback singers today, Sunidhi has voiced most of the leading ladies.
She was also a judge on reality talent show Indian Idol and performed the duet Heartbeat with Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias.
