Painkiller Danger
Painkiller Danger
Here's a piece of news to make you rethink before popping another painkiller.
Recently, The US Food and Drug Administration restricted doctors from prescribing painkillers of more than 325mg of acetaminophen.
The reason? Reports of severe liver damage.
According to an article on WebMD website, the painkiller is often given following acute injuries, operations or dental procedures. Many over-the-counter medications also contain the ingredient.
The risk of liver injury, according to FDA, "primarily occurs when patients take multiple products containing acetaminophen at one time and exceed the current maximum dose of 4,000mg within a 24-hour period."
