THE history of the PTPL Group of Colleges dates back to its establishment in 1981. PTPL College has become the institution of choice for SPM or STPM school leavers and fulfills the human capital needs of the nation. It has served more than 22,500 students through its 10 campuses in Malaysia.
PTPL focuses on certificate or diploma programmes in Health Sciences, Information Sciences, Engineering, Hospitality, Business Management and Professional Studies disciplines
The programmes are based on the nation's demand for manpower. PTPl does this through its School of Health Sciences, School of Business Management & Professional Studies, School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts and School of Information Sciences and Engineering.
The School of Health Sciences offers Certificate in Health Science and Diploma Medical Laboratory Technology. For School of Business Management & Professional Studies, it offers programmes such as Business Management, Early Childhood Education, Accountancy, Management and English Language Teaching.
The School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts offers programmes in Tourism Management, Hotel Operation & Catering, Food Services & Restaurant Management, Tourism Management, Culinary Arts and Hotel Management.
The School of Information Sciences and Engineering offers Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Multimedia Technology and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Students with three passes in SPM subjects, including credits in Bahasa Melayu, Mathematics and a science subject, can apply.
For students who failed to obtain three credits in their SPM, they can join certificate programmes.
The certificate programmes offered are in Health Science, Business Management, Early Childhood Education, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Tourism Management and Catering & Hotel Operation.
The minimum entry requirement for certificate programmes is a pass in SPM with one credit in any subject.
PTPL graduates can transfer their credit hours earned during their diploma level studies to bachelor's degree in Management & Science University (MSU), where MSU is the collegiate institution for PTPL.
With the credit transfer, students can enter the second year of bachelor's degrees in MSU.
PTPL College, through PTPL Penang, has built strong global connections with foreign universities.
Students who are interested in pursuing their 3+0 bachelor programmes in foreign universities can choose from selected university such as Anglia Ruskin University, Northumbria University and University of East London.
Professional programmes include CAT, ACCA qualification, LCCI- Diploma in Business Studies, LCCI-Private Secretarial Diploma, ABE and CIMA.
