Hasbullah Awang's Passing A Big Loss For Sports Fans
Prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has described the death of national sports commentator Datuk Hasbullah Awang as a major loss for the country's sports fans.
Hasbullah, 63, died from cardiac complication at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 12.20 this afternoon.
"I have just been informed that Datuk Hasbullah Awang has passed away. (I)always listened to his commentary. A major loss to sports fans. Al-Fatihah," said Najib in his Twitter posting.
The veteran commentator is survived by his wife, Datin Hazida Alang Ahmad, 58, four children and seven grandchildren.
His remains were buried at the Kota Kemuning Muslim Cemetery, Shah Alam at 6.40pm today.
