The trio will be performing at the one-night-only “3 Asian Divas Chinese New Year Live In Genting” concert, to be held at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on Feb 18, 10pm.
Each of the trio is a legend in her own right not just in the Hong Kong entertainment industry but across the Asian region as well.
Yip, Chan and Cordero had an amazing run when they shared the same stage at the Hong Kong Coliseum in 2009 and 2013. Yip, who just celebrated her 40th year in show business last year, is best known for performing many of the theme songs for television series produced by TVB in the 1980s and early 1990s, including the iconic theme song for The Bund.
She has more than 80 albums under her belt, can sing in English, Indonesian, Thai, Bahasa Malaysia, Spanish, Japanese, Tagalog, Cantonese, and even Mandarin.
Chan, on the other hand, was one of Hong Kong’s biggest stars during the 1980s and was perhaps best known for her duets with the late Leslie Cheung.
Even though her native tongue is Cantonese, she also sings in other languages including Mandarin, Japanese, English, Italian and Tagalog.
Cordero, better known as Fat Mama, is a true force to be reckoned with in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. The Portuguese-Chinese started singing in 1985 and her hits include Mama I Love You, You Can’t Stop Me Loving You, and Oh People. Besides singing, she has also acted in several movies, and is a well-known TV and radio host as well.
