Khairul Azwan Harun is Umno Youth deputy chief
Umno Youth delegates from Gelang Patah, Johor and Sabak Bernam, Selangor have voted Khairul Azwan Harun for the deputy chief post, breaking the deadlock between him and Jamawi Jaafar during the recent party polls.
Khairul and Jamawi both received 73 votes each in the Oct 12 elections, forcing a recount in three divisions, namely Gelang Patah, Sabak Bernam and Bachok, Kelantan.
The elections in Bachok are only scheduled for Friday.
In Gelang Patah, Khairul received 96 votes as opposed to Jamawi's 61, with three spoilt votes.
Khairul won with a difference of 65 votes in Sabak Bernam.
