Binary University's grads highly employable
Employers are commonly complaining of graduates lacking skills to match industry needs.
"The problem was initially addressed by the Human Resources Ministry through the Unemployed Graduates' Training Programme," said Binary University executive chairman Datuk Professor Joseph Adaikalam, who is also a member of National Higher Education Council.
"The ministry's solution was a short-term solution. Our nation needs high-income earning graduates, not just graduates with paper qualifications. To be a high-income graduate, one needs to be a valuable asset to the employer.
"This is why Binary University's ISP Graduate model has proven to be an excellent solution for employers.
"Testimony of this is the employability rate of Binary's graduates, which ranks among the highest in the country," said Adaikalam.
"Under the ISP Graduate Module, students of Binary University acquire industry-specific skills driven by the ISP Centre of Excellence. All ISP modules are delivered using a Faculty of Industry Professionals, who normally are industry experts with more than 20 years of experience in a specific sector.
"All Binary graduates obtain two qualifications, a JPA/MQA-accredited academic degree plus an ISP Industry Certification, which is a 100 per cent hands-on qualification. This is why our graduates are highly employable," he added.
"In addition to ISP, all Binary University graduates are groomed to become entrepreneurial in their behaviours and thinking. Binary's qualifications have very high entrepreneurial content.
"The university, being Malaysia's first 'Entrepreneurship University', also boasts of having one of the most comprehensive entrepreneurship ecosystems (CEEs) in the country," he added.
"Our BA (Hons) in Accounting is among the very few accounting qualifications in Malaysia to have a triple accreditation. Our accounting degree is CPA (Australia) and MQA accredited and provides exemption from eight papers of the ACCA (UK) ," says senior lecturer S.F. Huang, who has been a chartered accountant for more than 20 years.
Rated as a 5-star University by the Education Ministry, Binary University also offers postgraduate research degrees that include the PhD, DBA, MSc Social Entrepreneurship, MSc Islamic Banking & Finance, MSc Project Management, MSc Business Entrepreneurship as well as Binary MBA and MSc ITM.
The next intake starts on Feb 12. Call 03-80706590/96 or visit www.binary.edu.my for details.
Those residing in Kuala Lumpur may enrol into Binary College, which offers the BA(Hons) in Business Management, Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Business Administration and Diploma in TESL.
