The Sabah Tourism Board has full confidence in the police to investigate and solve the incident of murder and kidnap of foreign tourists on Pulau Pom Pom yesterday.

Its chairman, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said the board has confidence in the capability of the police in handling the case as it was not the first time the local authorities is with faced such a situation.

"We ask all parties not to make any speculation. Let the police do their job," he toldBernamawhen asked to comment on the murder and kidnap of two Taiwan nationals on the resort island in the east of Sabah.

In the 1amincident, a Taiwanese tourist was found dead with two gunshot wounds while his wife is feared kidnapped by a group of men.

The 57-year-old victim was found covered in blood in a room at a resort on the popular tourist island.

Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) director-general Datuk Mohammad Mentek (pic) had sinceassuredthat the abduction and murder incident were nowhere linked to the terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu earlier this year. ~ Awani
