SIME Darby Convention Centre (SDCC) is offering a wide array of tantalising dishes for Ramadan.

The Buka Puasa buffet is from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM80++ per person. SDCC is also taking corporate in-group bookings. There are three packages starting from RM70++ per person. It is also offering outside catering services.

Understanding the need for businesses to run as usual during the holy month, SDCC is has a special Ramadan meeting package that includes buka puasa buffet vouchers.

"Sajian Tradisi" is a value-for-money deal set to take guests on a culinary journey - from the customary Zam Zam water and assorted dates, to more than 100 eclectic mix of Arabic, Western, and Chinese dishes which are all-time favourites.

With more than 30 warung (stalls) one can expect to be spoilt for choice. Sizzling Claypot, Assorted Dim Sum, traditional La Mian,Tandoori Chicken and Dhall, Kari Kepala Ikan Mangga Muda, Gulai Kawah Tetel, Siput Sedut Masak Lemak Cili Api, Satay and Ikan Bakar are among the local favourites featured in the spread. For other exciting flavours, look out for Mexican Fajitas served with Jalapenos and Pistachio Bun; Black Pepper Roasted Lamb; English Smoked Beef Ribs; and Braised Lamb Shanks which are served on a rotation basis. Lemang aficionados will get to sample lemang Sarawak; lemang Pulut Hitam; lemang Jagung; and as well as the traditional lemang served with SDCC's famous rendang Kuali. Pop by the ketupat palas stall to see the chefs making ketupat live.

What is Ramadan without the popular bubur lambuk? Perfect as starters, the team of chefs headed by Faisal Ismail, has given the traditional bubur lambuk a healthy twist using the freshest ingredients.

Apart from hot and tantalising dishes, a unique feature this year will be the beverage stall - Warung Helmi Blender - inspired by regulars at SDCC who opt for the healthier fruit smoothies to re-energise after a day of fasting.

For those with sweet cravings, there is a wide variety of mouth-watering desserts such as Nyonya and Malay kuih, French pastries, delicious cakes, puddings, and for a healthier option, an array of local fruits. A permanent feature of the buffet line by popular demand is the Ice Cream Goreng stall and ABC offering more than 30 types of condiments and assorted syrups!

"The key attraction of our buffet is not only the variety but our emphasis is on the quality of the food we serve. As we become more conscious of our customers' needs, we constantly improve and develop menus that will cater to them," said Faisal.

Like in previous years, SDCC guests will be able to takeaway some of these popular Ramadan dishes, with ready-to-go meals available from 3pm-to 5pm daily during the fasting month. The meals, available at The Bazaar, start from RM5, making them affordable for everyone.
