5 shocking reasons why women cheat

Here are some reasons women cheat.  A helpful guide from dating expert Renee Lee for every woman-and man-on why ladies go rogue. Does this apply to you?

As far as stereotypes go, a wandering eye and the urge to jump into bed with multiple partners seems to be built into a man's DNA, but when it comes to cheating, the sexes are created more equally than we think. (Cough, Kristen Stewart, cough.) Renee Lee, a relationship expert with a masters in psychology, dishes out five reasons why women cheat.

1. Going Through A Transition

"If it is graduating, turning a certain age, losing a parent or advancing the relationship status, women become introspective," explains Lee. "Even if it is something she wants, such as just getting engaged or graduating, the transition can stir up an array of emotions about where her life is going or where she is in it. The discomfort of change can trigger an impulsive desire to find someone to take her focus off the change and be a diversion for what she is going through."

2. Not Feeling Adequately Celebrated

We've all been here: "May it be getting a promotion, organizing a fundraiser, or making Thanksgiving dinner for a party of 20, men often make the misstep of not complimenting their partner's achievements," Lee says. "Women seek an emotional connection that their partner notices them, is proud of their achievements, and appreciates what they do, so when they aren't getting this at home the residual effects lead to feelings of frustration, dissatisfaction, depression, and restlessness."

And that's when they could go looking for it elsewhere. "When you are living in the day to day with someone, it is challenging to step outside a situation and notice the things that do matter to someone," adds Lee "As this wears down over time, so as soon as the woman encounters someone who ignites the spark they are lacking at home, they equate it to an emotional connection and seek companionship with someone else."

3. Feeling A Relationship Ending

"When a woman feels that uneasy sense that a relationship is on the outs, by either her doing or his, she will often look to fill the void externally to soften the blow," Lee reasons for a woman's infidelity. "If she is the one considering the breakup, she may be using this tactic as a challenge to herself both testing the waters, and then gauge if she can go through with it."

4. It's Just Not Fun Anymore

...But it's too hard to pull the plug. "When you don't laugh, you don't love. Laughter is one of the key elements in a relationship that often gets overlooked," Lee explains, simply. "When stresses of day to day life become the dominant factor in a relationship, women feel unhappy. When they come across a coworker, or friend that they have a good time with, it suddenly brings to light what is missing in their own relationship and becomes tempting to act upon."

5. It's Boring In The Bedroom

Men aren't the only ones who need to spice things up. "Women need to feel desired!" Lee declares. "If she is not getting any, enough, or nothing to talk about, women start to feel a sexual void. With the popularity of books such as Fifty Shades of Grey, television shows, or listening to friends talk about their fun single trysts, women have that moment when they compare their love life at home to what the rest of the world seems to be experiencing." And that's when she may start to wonder what she's missing.

"Though it is easy to pinpoint the flaws in one's sex life, it is often hard to make the changes needed to correct them," adds Lee. "This creates a temptation in women to seek sexual satisfaction elsewhere with someone they don't have the baggage with and can be more uninhibited."

Now you know why women cheat. But we say, if you're thinking about cheating, just break up with the guy, before you move on to a new one.

Tips For Diet - Easy Diet Tips

Tips for Diet

1) Don’t skip breakfast!
Eating breakfast speeds up your metabolism and helps you lose more calories through out the day. Eating breakfast is a good habit!

2) Drink more water!
I know you’ve heard this here and there, but there’s a reason why. It’s good to drink a cup of water 15-30 minutes before you eat a meal. It fills you up, so you eat less, and it also exercises your intestines.

3) Alternative for water
Water tastes like nothing, so it’s hard to drink a lot of it. Green tea may be an alternative for water! It detoxes your body, meaning that it washes away all the bad things in your body. It also has a taste so I find myself drinking a lot more of it than water! Green tea helps reduce the risk of getting cancer. Some people think drinking too much green tea is not good because it has caffeine, but truth is, it only contains half the caffeine of coffee!

4) Munch munch snack time! Say no to junk food!
Instead of a bag of chips as a snack, how about a cup of fresh fruits or a salad? Yum yum! Junk food are not only high in calories, but it also makes you feel groggy and lazy.

5) Question yourself?!
You go out to grab a burger with your friends, and that is perfectly fine. But, do you really need that large fries and extra ketchup on your burger? Ask yourself, and you know the answer.

6) Move around all day every day!
Don’t sit infront of your computer all day, do some housework to help your mom and exercise!

GOING BACK TO SPORTS AFTER AN INJURY

GOING BACK TO SPORTS AFTER AN INJURY

Seeing a doctor, getting a diagnosis and undergoing treatment or surgery are only half of what you should do when you suffer a sports injury. The other half is physiotherapy, which is more important than people realise.

If you injure your knee, for example, and stop using it even for walking, within a week or two, your thigh muscles will begin to wear out.

The muscle is there to stabilise your limbs, so a weak muscle compromises movement.

Physiotherapy strengthens the muscles to the point that they can support limbs and aggressive movement again. It also prevents atrophy and improves proprioception, the sense of strength and effort employed in moving a limb, the positioning of the limb, and the limits of what the limb can do.

Recovery and rehabilitation takes a lot of time. Athletes should not be discouraged, but rather be secure in the knowledge that proper care means being able to give 100 per cent to their game once they go back to it.

This is something that professional athletes understand - although the pressure to get back out on the field is high, time is necessary for complete healing. Taking short cuts risks more injuries in the future. An example of this is LA Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant, who ruptured his Achilles tendon two weeks ago. According to news reports, it will take six to nine months for him to fully recover and get back in the game.

The truth about men

The truth about men

MEN - powerful, strong, virile, protecting and providing for the family. But are men really stronger?

It is now common knowledge that men's life expectancy is lower than women's. According to the UN World Population Prospects 2011 Revision released by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Population Division, the average life expectancy of Malaysian men is about 71 years, while in women it is closer to 76 years.

One of the biggest problems is that men don't tend to use healthcare, even if it is just consultation with their GP, says Dr Peter Ng Eng Pin, consultant urological surgeon at Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya. Men's attitudes tend to be `I have to be really ill before I see the doctor' or `it's just a minor illness, I can fight it off myself'. But men must realise that they are not invulnerable.

It seems that taking care of their health is just not part of the big picture when it comes to men. Dr Ng compares this with women, who are more detailorientated and thus notice the little changes and problems that can crop up from time to time. Unfortunately for men, health is all about the little details, and so they tend to lose out by not paying attention.

In Malaysia, men above the age of 45 years do tend to have the awareness that they should go for general checkups and screenings. In a normal clinical assessment, the doctor will note down your biometrics, take your health and family history, check on current complaints and do a general systems review of your body.

If there are symptoms or risk factors present, the doctor will recommend screenings for heart disease, hypertension, diabetes or osteoporosis (in older men).

Men below the age of 45 years usually do not require annual screenings, unless they lead an excessive lifestyle, or there is family history of a disease. For example, if your father had a heart attack in his 40s, it is a good idea for you to get a full check-up and screen for heart disease, cholesterol or hypertension before you reach that age. It is highly likely that you have the same health problems that your father had, even if the symptoms are not yet present.

A barometer of male well-being

MORE often than not, when men have erectile dysfunction (ED) they feel their world has come crashing down. Many men associate penile health with virility and when they have ED, it is as if their masculinity has been threatened; then there is the stigma of discussing sexual health openly in many Asian communities.

But what many people fail to realise is that there is a silver lining when one has ED. According to Professor Datuk Dr Tan Hui Meng, consultant urological surgeon at Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya, ED reflects a man's overall health because the penis is akin to a barometer of a man's vascular and neurological health.

He explains that the penile artery is a third the size of a coronary artery and when there is build up of plaque in the arteries, the smaller arteries like the penile arteries are clogged up first. Because of the clogging, having an erection becomes difficult because the blood flow to the artery slows down, Professor Dr Tan explains.

This type of ED is known as organic ED so when a man experiences this for a prolonged period of between three and six months, heart disease would typically follow in about three years, making ED a sign for men to seek help.

Young men in their 30s and 40s with confirmed ED have been reported to be 50 times more likely to develop or suffer serious cardiovascular disease and cardiac death over a 10-year period, compared to a similar population without ED.

Dr Tan says that the causes of ED are similar to that of heart disease like smoking, high levels of cholesterol and blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. If a man has many of these risk factors, then it is likely that he will develop ED.

The other type of ED is psychogenic ED. Psychogenic ED happens when a man cannot get an erection in certain circumstances, but can perform regularly on other occasions. It can be caused by many external factors including stress, anxiousness, or when pressured into having sex.

The majority of men only need oral medication to treat their ED, with the common ones in the market being Viagra, Levitra, Cialis and Zydena. Patients can use these medications safely, provided it is under the supervision of a doctor. When a man has ED he must not only get help from the doctor, but must also ensure that his risk factors are treated and minimised.

Erectile dysfunction is a cardiovascular disease unless proven otherwise; knowing this will enable a man to reverse his ED, and more importantly, help save his life.

LEADING CAUSES OF DEATH IN MEN

* Cancer

* Heart disease

* Stroke

* Liver damage

* Diabetes

* Kidney disease

All these can be linked to lifestyle choices that men make:

* Tobacco use

On average, more men smoke than women, and they smoke three more cigarettes a day.

* Diet

Men are more likely to have a diet with inadequate amounts of nutrition.

* Alcohol intake

Men drink more times a week, and consume more alcohol each time.

* Substance abuse

A 2000 study in Hong Kong showed that 83.3 per cent of people reported to the Central Registry of Drug Abuse were men, compared to only 16.2 per cent of women.

* Unsafe sex

This can lead to sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/ AIDS.

* Lack of use of preventive services

Many men do not go for checkups and are not tested for cholesterol levels, diabetes and high blood pressure

INTERESTING FACTS

* Married men tend to live longer than their single friends. A US study showed that single men have a 32 per cent higher risk of dying throughout their lifetimes than a married man.

* A man's health tends to deteriorate when they no longer have a woman in their life. This is because women are more likely to be the primary coordinator of healthcare in the family, and they generally tend to know more about health than men.

* A study by evolutionary geneticist Jenny Graves states that the poor design of the Y chromosome means that it is degrading rapidly, and will eventually disappear within the next five million years.

Maybank Now 13th Most Strongest Bank In The World

Maybank Now 13th Most Strongest Bank In The World

Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has become the first Malaysian bank to enter into the world's top 20 strongest banks based on a financial evaluation undertaken by 'Bloomberg Markets' magazine.

Maybank was ranked 13th in the elite global group of banks of assets of over US$100 billion based on, among other things, its capital strength, asset quality, strong reserves as well as deposit and funding strength.

Other factors where Malaysia's largest bank scored highly in 'Bloomberg Markets' third annual ranking of the world's strongest banks included cost efficiency and risk managemnent, the magazine said in a report published on the Bloomberg website.

Maybank's president/chief executive officer, Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, attributed the ranking to tough supervision by Bank Negara Malaysia and new stress testing and risk-control measures inside the bank.

Qatar National Bank came out tops in the ranking.

It was followed by Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp Ltd (Singapore), which fell from first place in 2012 and 2011, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Royal Bank of Canada, DBS Group Holdings, United Overseas Bank, Bank of Nova Scotia (Canada), Toronto-Dominion Bank, Citigroup and Hang Seng Bank (Hong Kong).

In 11th to 20th place were Svenska Handelsbanken (Sweden), China Construction Bank, Maybank, Credit Suisse Group (Switzerland), JPMorgan Chase (US), Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (Sweden), National Bank of Canada (Canada), while Industrial & Commercial Bank of China and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (Turkey) were tied at 18th place and Bank of Communications (China) was in 20th place.

According to the 'Bloomberg Markets' report, Maybank scored highly in loan-loss reserves to non-performing assets and deposits to funding as well as efficiency which was based on costs to revenue.

To identify the world's strongest banks, 'Bloomberg Markets' evaluated 78 banks with total assets of US$100 billion or more as of mid-March including interviewing its top officials.

Maybank now has 2,200 branch offices in 20 countries and owes its size and strength to the aftermath of the 1997 to 1998 Asian financial crisis, which forced the devaluation of the region's currencies and the near collapse of a dozen Indonesian, Malaysian, South Korean and Thai banks.

In Kuala Lumpur, Bank Negara orchestrated mergers that combined the country's 60-plus financial institutions into 10 big commercial banking groups, now reduced to eight.

Maybank emerged from that shake-up as Malaysia's biggest lender.

It has since expanded further to become the fourth-biggest bank by assets in South-East Asia.

"The central bank has always adopted a very pragmatic supervision approach," Abdul Wahid was quoted as saying in the report.

"Whenever there are signs of problems, Bank Negara has never been hesitant to intervene," he said.

Maybank's rapid overseas expansion began with the acquisition of a controlling stake in PT Bank Internasional Indonesia in 2008.

"The bank aims to extend its footprint to all 10 Asean countries as the region moves toward a planned economic integration by 2015," Abdul Wahid said.

Maybank earned 30 per cent of its pre-tax profit from overseas operations last year, the bulk of it from Indonesia and Singapore.

Alfred Chan, director of financial institutions at Fitch Ratings in Singapore, said Maybank had no choice but to look for growth outside its home territory.

"Malaysia and Singapore are highly saturated banking sectors.

"That means profitability tends to be on the lower end," said Chan.

Maybank's answer has been to expand to fast-growing nations such as Indonesia. But in Indonesia, "risk is also relatively higher compared to Malaysia," Chan said.

As the Kuala Lumpur-based lender, which includes an Islamic-banking unit, has expanded, it's also strengthened its risk management team.

Abdul Wahid said: "We needed to make sure that we have the right people with the right skills to manage our risks."

"That has been done. There's now a risk-control team embedded in every key division of the bank," a spokesman said.

Malaysia started putting into place the so-called Basel III rules, designed to reinforce the capital of big international banks, on Jan 1 -- ahead of a majority of the 27 members of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.

In October, Maybank raised RM3.66 billion (US$1.18 billion) from a private placement of its shares to help bolster its capital.

And the bank said it has instituted several other Basel III reforms ahead of the international group's timetable, which stretches the process to 2019.

"We always believe in being ahead of the curve. We are very much prepared to meet all the new requirements under Basel III," Abdul Wahid said.
