"Salam Cinta" tells the story of Amirul, an actor who receives the offer to play an Islamic man. He goes to a village to see for himself how an imam lives so that he can better embody his role. In the village, he meets Laila and begins to fall for her after seeing her graceful, soft spoken and kind manner with her family. A playboy at heart, Amirul's attitude changes little by little in order to win Laila's heart.

Road Closure for Merdeka Parade (27-31 Aug)

To facilitate rehearsals for the state-level Merdeka Day parade by members of the uniformed staff and all those involved in the 55th Merdeka Day Parade on Friday, August 31, the following roads and side roads in Ipoh will be closed temporarily effective August 27 till 31:

· Jalan S.P. Seenivasagam
· Jalan Kompleks Islam/Jalan Lim Bo Seng
· Jalan Sultan Yusuf/Jalan Bandar Timah
· Jalan Lahat Kidd
· Jalan Persiaran Kidd
· Bulatan Kidd
· Traffic Lights, Jalan Tun Razak/Gudwara

Rehearsals will commence at 7am each day and will end around mid-day. Motorists and road-users are advised to use alternative roads to get to their destinations. Traffic policemen will be posted at various spots to ensure compliance.

THE Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa's Zest restaurant offers kampung as well as international cuisine for its Ratusan Resipi Ramadan buffet.

The lamb briyani rice has yoghurt, cashew nuts, ginger, garlic, ghee, tomato paste, cinnamon and Indian spices as ingredients, and one of many Indian dishes.

There are also tandoori chicken on skewers, fresh, crisp thosai served right off the grill, piping-hot naan bread, fluffy idli, soft roti canai and capati.

There is an array of Malay fare such as Ayam Kerutup, Perut Lembu Masak Cili Padi, fish head curry, Daging Gulai Kawah, Kambing Kizi and Ikan Asam Pedas.

Lady's fingers, lemongrass, tomatoes, bunga kantan, brinjal, pari fish, chilli paste and tamarind water are some of the ingredients that make up the ikan asam pedas dish, which is full of flavour and rich in taste.

Ikan bawal, red snapper or garoupa is used for the fish head curry. The fiery hot dish is always a crowd-puller.

The fish tastes tender and fresh. It's a good idea to eat this dish with a glass of iced water or a bowl of air ais batu campur (ABC) to cool your tongue! If you're not into spicy food, the ayam kerutup will be right up your alley. Tender pieces of chicken in a sweet, creamy gravy created with spices, coconut milk and palm sugar ensures that you will leave Zest satisfied.

The Chinese station features a variety of dishes such as wok-fried cockles with Gan Hiong sauce, wok-fried flower crabs in chilli sauce, oxtail stew with preserved brown beans and garlic cloves, wokfried bamboo with black bean sauce and fried mee suah with scrambled eggs. There are also prawn, San Kan and Siew Mai dumplings.

You can also take your pick of lok-lok with broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower, baby corn, lady's fingers, fish cakes, mussels, chicken, chicken sausages, prawns, squids and crab sticks to place in the soup of your choice to cook and savour them with the sauces provided.

Soups to choose from include tom yam soup, clear chicken soup, anchovies soup and curry mee soup. The sauces and condiments include cili padi kicap, sweet sauce, green namprik sauce, sambal belacan and green chilli kicap.

If you'd much rather enjoy noodles, you can also have wantan noodles, yellow noodles and rice noodles with your soup and fresh lok-lok.

Help yourself to some Amber Jack fish at the specialty station, or indulge in grilled otak-otak, barbecued crabs, squids, prawns and fish at the BBQ station. The Western station boasts Italian and American cuisine.

For example, there are fettuccini, angel hair, spaghetti, cheese and mushrooms ravioli and other pasta dishes prepared like carbonara, arabiata, napolitana, alfredo marinara and pesto-style, among others. If you like seafood, try marinara pasta which boasts of Italian noodles with prawns, mussels, squids, among others.

Burgers complete with egg, cheese, beef or grilled chicken patties and vegetables are also available. As for desserts, there are plenty of cakes and pastries.

The buffet is until Aug 15, and is priced at RM105++ per adult and RM63++ per child.
